Coming January 0f 2024!
Ignatian Discernment is a time-tested method for discovering how God is moving in our lives and how we can be open to the future.
Our decisions do not occur in a vacuum, but in the midst of our often chaotic, noisy, unexpected lives. How do we make decisions that speak to who we really are as people in our best selves, and in trust that God is with us and actively speaking to us? Ignatian decision making asks us to look at our lives as they actually are, with the commitments we have in place and see the bigger picture of what is happening underneath it all so we can make solid decisions that glorify God and help us to become who we were made to be.
Much more than a series of observations or a checklist of pros and cons, this type of discernment can help in all aspects of our lives and teach us what things to pay attention to as we navigate the sometimes messy world we live in.
Join us as we meet for 6 weeks every Tuesday from 7-9 p.m. January 9 – February 13, at the Wilson Abbey. The class costs $60 and will be based on the book God’s Voice Within by Mark Thibodeaux. You’ll need to get your own copy of the book. It can be purchased here: Loyola Press or here: Amazon. The sessions will begin with listening groups led by seasoned spiritual directors, followed by teaching and discussions. Every class participant will be able to sign up for one one-hour session of individual spiritual direction, either during the class or afterwards.
